22/02/1967 : New Zealand Universities v Colony XV (Hong Kong) + Remarkable Extras) Mint condition, large style programme from this fixture between Combined New Zealand Universities and Colony XV at the Hong Kong Football Club Stadium in 1967.
This programme comes with a unique set of addendums.
Firstly, the precursor to the main game was due to be between Cheng Kong and a Presidents XV. However, there is a typed noted included with the programme that states: "Due to unforeseen circumstances Cheng Kong have not arrived in Hong Kong. We have, therefore, arranged for a Royal Navy team, from the visiting ships HMS Bulwark and HMS Fearless, to play the presidents XV" - the team is then listed.
Also included is another typed sheet which lists the team for the game between HK schools and UK Schools. remarkably, it also includes details of a game between "H.K Memsahibs and Wanchai Wanderers". It explains that, the Wanchai team is men, and that the HK Memsahibs are ladies, and that the game will be played with 15 of the ladies team versus 7 of the men's team..
ALSO, included are the referee cards from the games indicating the scores, dates and times.
This indicates that the package was indeed once the ownership of the referee of the day.
An incredible combination of articles, programme and documents and a must for any historians of the game.
